Stockholm part 2

After my first visit to Stockholm, our 5 week module is already in week 3 making this our second visit of 3.
This time we’re going to make basic root orthotics, combining this with a bit of background o biomechanical methodologies and extra clinical testing to make the visit worthwile.
It’s amazing how our Artevelde University College is cooperating with the Karolinska Institutet, Sweden.  Last time we were here, colleagues from creative therapy were here, and now, we have the pleasure of 2 colleagues of Audiology.
It looks like t’ s going to be again an intesive 3 days.  But i’ll keep you posted…

Forefoot Varus or Supinatus (2)

In addition to my previous posting on this topic, I would like to share these pictures which are part of our presentation we give here @ Mikkeli Uni, Savonlinna – Finland.

When you are confronted with a Forefoot supinatus (probably 99%) you can take the forefoot deviation and correct in your plaster by plantarflexing the first ray or by dorsiflexing the Hallux.
The intrinsic correction effect you get is amazing.  We did the test… here in Savonlinna…

Day 2 – Savonlinna

Yesterday, we had a good run on our theoretical part, but the students were tired and happy to stop at 6pm.  So we headed to the restaurant Majakka and had ourselves a nice dinner (I had SPECIAL OF THE HOUSE:  Grilled turkey breast, grilled beef fillet, country-style sausage, deep-fried bacon, beer sauce, baked root vegetables and creamy potatoes flavoured with thyme)

After that we went back to the Hotel  to finish us off completely with a fantastic sauna!

Today, however, we tried to pick up from where we left yesterday.  My main man PJ did his clinical examinations and I did the plaster-master stuff on The Blake Technique.

Finland, Here we are

Today, monday -  and it started pretty early!
Beside the fact that we only had 3,5 hours of sleep, we missed breaky and we also almost missed our connection from Helsinki Airport to Savonlinna.

After a VERY bumpy ride on the plane with a in-between-stop in the middle of nowhere we arrived a bit early at Savonlinna “Airport”.

Key word now is Coffee…  Putting presentation together for this afternoon but everything looks great
